Manifesto.
Britain runs on small businesses. The plumber, the cleaner, the construction firm, the kitchen fitters in a village near you. They keep towns alive, employ neighbours and pay their taxes. And for decades the digital industry has treated them as an afterthought. Something to upsell. Someone to pass to the junior. We built Midlands Digital because that is not good enough. Good digital marketing should not be a luxury reserved for companies with London retainers and pitch teams fighting over them.
Small business owners are the sharpest, most pragmatic people you will meet. They can smell nonsense a mile off. And they view the digital marketing industry with deep, justified scepticism. It comes down to four things:
Five-figure website quotes for work that should cost a fraction of that, delivered late, underperforming the site it replaced.
SEO sold as a dark art, priced like one, with results that never quite arrive. Just a colour-coded PDF of fancy graphs.
Never speaking to anyone accountable. An account executive here, a client success partner there, nobody who actually did the work.
The nagging feeling of being shortchanged. Paying for expertise and getting a script. Wondering "could I do better myself?"
This industry needs to change, and we are not waiting for it.
We built Midlands Digital with all this in mind. Websites that get the phone ringing. SEO measured in enquiries and invoices, not impressions. Nobody pays the overheads with search impressions. Pricing you know in full, upfront, before you commit. And when you work with us you speak to the founder. On the phone, in the meeting, fully accountable. No jargon, no acronym soup, no leveraging synergies. If a strategy cannot be explained in plain English, it is not a strategy.
We are convinced the way forward is simple. Fixed transparent pricing. Real ownership. Honest advice. You own your domain, your data, your brand, your website. If you ever want to leave, you walk out with everything you came in with. When something is not working, we say so. When something is, we double down. When a young founder asks for advice, they get it free. That is just giving back.
Our ambition is straightforward. We want Midlands Digital to be the name small businesses across the UK trust with their growth. The family firm, the trades business, the not-for-profit, the one-person consultancy with ambition and not much time.
If you have ever felt like the digital world was not built for you, you are right. It wasn’t.
And we are fixing that.
