1st Choice Blinds
A new website to win local search across Worcestershire and Herefordshire
Dave Hayman came to us by referral. He runs 1st Choice Blinds, a family-run blinds, shutters, carpets and flooring business with a proper bricks-and-mortar shop and showroom on Worcester Road in Malvern. The business had been quietly serving customers across two counties for years on word of mouth and reputation alone. The website wasn't doing it justice, and it wasn't doing what a website ought to do for a local trades business with that kind of catchment.
The brief was simple in principle. Dave wanted a website that actually generated home visit bookings from people searching for blinds, shutters, and flooring across Malvern, Worcester, Bromsgrove, Evesham, Hereford, and Kidderminster. In practice that meant solving for two things at once. The site had to communicate the full breadth of what 1st Choice Blinds actually does, which is a fair bit more than the name suggests, and it had to be built to win local search across six different market towns rather than just Malvern alone.
We built a new Squarespace site structured around how local home interiors customers actually buy. A clear top-level split between blinds and flooring, with dedicated pages for each product category underneath, from roller, roman, and venetian blinds through to plantation shutters, carpets, vinyl, LVT, laminate, and engineered wood. Real photography of work Dave's team has actually fitted runs throughout, which sells a local trades business far harder than stock interiors imagery ever will. Customers see exactly the standard of finish they'll get.
The local SEO foundations are where the site does its quieter strategic work. Each of the six towns 1st Choice Blinds covers has its own dedicated local phone number routing through to the business, building stronger local relevance signals and giving prospects in Hereford, Bromsgrove, or Evesham a number that feels like theirs rather than a Malvern one. Combined with location-specific keywords woven through product pages and image filenames, the site is set up to compete for local searches across the whole catchment, not just on the doorstep.
Since launch, 1st Choice Blinds has a digital presence that finally matches the quality of the showroom and the work coming out of the workshop. Free home visit enquiries land through clear conversion routes, and the search foundations are in place to start compounding traffic across the full geographic spread.
We're continuing to work with Dave on the next stage, building out search optimisation and content to grow visibility across the full product range and county-wide catchment.
